Sushi Mise

While we were at Kemang area, we were looking for a decent sushi place to eat, and we found this Sushi Mise in La Codefin Kemang..

Dominated by green colour from outside, and it has two entrances.. A nice place and it was quite crowded that nite..

The indoor dining area with open kitchen concept..

They offered a light and healthy fusion sushi..

And these are our dinner that nite..

Salmon Mayonnaise (29K), mixed raw salmon with mayonnaise on sushi.. Its nice..

Ebi Tempura Maki (32K), ebi tempura wrapped in sushi rice topped with tobiko.. I Loved the crunchy bits..

Rainbow Roll (48K), sushi with kani, avocado, tamago, and cucumber topped with various and colourful sliced fish sashimi; salmon, tuna, and I don't know the other hehe.. Tasted soso only..

Gindara Teriyaki (28K), grilled gindara in teriyaki sauce served with veggies.. The sauce was tasty, but too bad the fish was too dry for our liking..

Can't say much about this place, but Sushi Mise is a pretty decent sushi place in Kemang if you want a reasonably priced one.

Saboga

A simple lunch at Saboga in Food Louver Food Court.. Food Louver is a nice and comfy foodcourt located in 3rd floor in Grand Indonesia Mall.. I can say this is the most comfortable food court in Jakarta, I love the ambiance here (sorry I don't have the photo of it).. But when come to the food, Food Louver is less various than other food courts in Jakarta..

One of my favorite stall here is Saboga ' Raja Baso Tahu', which from Bandung.. They serve siomay - steam fish dumpling, baso - meatball, batagor - fried meatball and tofu, and bakwan - fried dumpling in their open kitchen stall which allow the customer choose what they want.. It can be served with peanut sauce or soup as u like.. But usually, siomay and batagor go with peanut sauce, meatball and tofu serve with the soup, and bakwan can be both.. They also served Bandung-style noodle which is called Yamien..

E ordered Yamien Special (20.5K), is a sweet version of Indonesian noodle served with ground chicken, fried wonton and beef meatballs..

A chewy texture noodle with a sweet soy sauce.. The sauce was really mixed well with the noodle, so tasty..

And he also ordered Fish Batagor (6K), Chicken Mushroom Siomay (5.5K), and Shrimp Ball (5.5K) on soup served with veggies.. It was nice and not fishy at all..

Saboga seems to be a tasty and wise choice for lunch, dinner, or just for a snacks.. They have several outlets spread around Jakarta. You can find it in Plaza Senayan, Senayan City, Emporium Pluit, La Codefin Kemang, Mall of Indonesia that's all I know so far..

Immigrant

Located in Plaza Indonesia Extension 6th floor, next to the new cinema XXI, Immigrant seems to be a nice place to hang out and dine..

Such a big book menu.. International cuisine is in the menu

This is how the interior looks like.. The ambiance is no doubt, one of the pulling factor here..

When you sit down, you get this plate of assorted breads with dips.. Stater for free.. It was not really nice, the bread was not soft and dry..

Our drinks..

Immigrant Lemon Tea (30K)

Hot Berrymix Tea (35K)

E was craving for fish n chips, but since he has a sore throat, the waiter recommended him to have a grilled fish instead of deep fried fish..

John Dory Grill (58K), simply grilled dory fish served with salad and mashed potato.. The fish was soft and delicious with the super appetizing mashed potato.. It was really a simple dish and it tasted really yummy and healthy too..

And I ordered this Mushroom Pizza (56K) to share.. They really generous with the mushroom.. Loved the mushroom, but the pizza was just a mediocre..

Well, the food is very well presented but the taste is just mediocre.. I think they are more attractive on their ambiance than the food.. But, still nice to try it..

The Grand Duck King

The both of us were thinking of something Asian, something Chinese, for dinner and we ended up with The Grand Duck King at Grand Indonesia because we curious what's the difference this The 'Grand' Duck King with the usual Duck King Restaurant we've tried..

The selection on their menu is actually quite wide. A quick glance of their menu shows that they served Chinese style dishes. But since there were only two of us, we opted for single serve meals.

This restaurant has a really spacious place and more luxurious than others Duck King Restaurant.. It has a fine dining ambiance..

I love the spot where we seated that nite, from here we can see a nice view of Plaza Indonesia

After seated and order taken, we was served with this Seasoned Fried Potato (6K)..

From their dim sum selections, we ordered Chicken Char Siew Pao (14.8K), steamed bun with stuffed BBQ roasted chicken.. It was just ok.. It had a fluffy texture bun with a savoury and just slightly sweet filling of chicken char siew.

Steamed Rice Roll with Chinese Crullers (17.8K), a crisp Chinese crullers wrapped in silken steamed rice rolls served with seasoned soy and savory-sweet nutty paste to drizzle it.. It was a soft and chewy rice noodles with crispy crullers..

And for the next course, I ordered Hong Kong Wonton Noodle-Dry (35K). The wonton was quite big and has a tasty filling of minced chicken and shrimps..

E ordered this Hainanese Chicken Rice with Steamed Chicken (35K).. Not satisfied enough with this dish, the chicken rice was ok but the portion of steamed chicken was too small..

So what makes this 'Grand' Duck King different from usual Duck King Restaurant, besides their more luxurious place, they also have more various menu here.. And for the price, I think is quite same.. The Duck King Group always serve a decent halal Chinese restaurant in Jakarta..

The Spaghetti House

After having Japanese foods two times in a row, this make us a bit bored with it, so we went to Spaghetti House this time..

Nice kitchen background, some menus on the wall and beer bottles decorated the kitchen..

The restaurant is bright and decorated in a modern minimalist style.. Such a lovely, cozy, and welcoming ambiance..

Instead of spaghetti, you can also enjoy pizza and sandwich here.. Although they serve not an authentic Italian dishes, but the taste here is a real good..

Hot Lemon Tea (12.5K)

We ordered this Meat Sauce Jacket Potato (19.8K) to start with.. Just a simple combination of chili con carne and potato wedges topped with melted mozzarella cheese, but tasted so tasty..

Craving for some hot and spicy pasta, so I ordered this Bacon Spicy Mushroom Spaghetti (39.2K), spaghetti is stirred in spicy tomato paste together with beef bacon and mushroom.. This dish has a good rich taste.. The portion wise was generous and they also served with a generous amount of mushroom and beef..

And E ordered Spicy Tuna Spaghetti (36.2K), spaghetti tossed with tuna chunk in spicy olive oil.. With a bit fragrant lemongrass, made this pasta tasted like a Thai style spaghetti for me.. It was nice..

This is the great place to enjoy various fusion style of pasta with a great deal too.. Worth to try..

Sushi Tei - revisit

Yeaaahh more on sushi.. Sushi Tei is my top choice for sushi, where I can enjoy both traditional and fusion sushi here.. There's no others place I can find for better sushi to eat at in Jakarta so far..

The sushi bar is located at the middle of the restaurant.. So packed..

Here's what we had for our dinner...

Started with Agedashi Tofu (22K), deep fried tofu in shoyu sauce topped with bonito flakes.. As usual, the tofu was nice and soft.. This is my 'a must order dish' everytime I visit Sushi Tei hehe...

Salmon Maki (11K), sushi roll with raw salmon inside...

Chuka Lidako (16K), baby octopus sushi.. I don't like it, I think its too scary to eat hehe.. But E said it was tasty as usual..

Baked Salmon Maki (16K), sushi roll with baked salmon inside.. One of my fave...

Chuka Chinmi (11K), scallop sushi.. I don't really like this, but this is E's fave..

Stamina Roll (22K), teriyaki chicken with cashew nut sushi roll, topped with fried garlic.. I liked it, it was so tasty..

Ace Roll (37K), the rice was rolled with baked tuna and tempura flakes in the middle, with a thick piece of lightly smoked tuna on top of the sushi.. It was a little bit pricey but the portion was ok with lots of meaty stuffing.. I'm not sure what this sushi called and this sushi doesn't appear on the menu.. But just ask the waiter ace roll, they'll know it..

Sushi Tei is quite familiar among all food goers, and we know that their sushi always taste nice, the rice is soft and with fresh ingredient.. And I don't mind going back again n again when I'm craving for sushi..

Kiyadon Sushi - revisit

I was craving for fusion sushi lately and after being recommended by my friend, we decided to try Kiyadon Sushi in Grand Indonesia.. This is the same Kiyadon which we had tried @ FX.. But now they’re expanding their business to the sushi competition by opening Kiyadon Sushi..

The selections of menu is quite wide..

The sushi bar.. It looks very nice from the outside

Nice interior with warm ambiance..

It so excited to see the chef prepared our sushi..

We ordered D.I.G. Sushi Roll (65K), I don't know exactly what this D.I.G. stands for, but this fusion roll was really good.. It's a sushi roll with kani (crabstick) on it and topped with lightly grilled salmon, and sprinkled with chicken floss and tobiko (salmon roe) on top..

And this Spicy Salmon Spaghetti (68K), its a mixed of chili or something spicy and mayo on spaghetti topped with sauteed salmon chunks and salmon sashimi... Yum! The sauce was creamy and was mixed well with the spaghetti. The salmon also fresh, but E found that the sauce was too thick for his liking..

In general, the food here was decent.. And for the price, I think it was slightly pricey, but it's quite ok considering the ingredients they used...
