ah Tuan ee's

We were looking to experience something new this time, so while we're in Pacific Place we visited ah Tuan ee's Restaurant which is originated from Malaysia.. The food selection on the menu is heavily influenced by Chinese Malaysia style (Malaysian Nyonya foods)..


When you step into the restaurant, you will feel as if you are stepping back into time.. The restaurant is decorated in Malay's house style with antique items, wooden tables & chairs, and hanging birdcage lamp.. What a lovely sight..


For the drink..


Soya Bean with Grass Jelly (14K), sweetened soy bean milk drink with strands of grass jelly inside..


We started up with Roti Canai (20K), slightly crispy roti canai served with tasty chicken curry..

Mie Siam (32K), stir fried vermicelli with seafood, tofu and veggies in spicy, sweet, sour sauce.. It was nice, the seafood were fresh with some huge juicy prawns..

Next, Golden Tofu Spicy (52K), deep fried silken tofu topped with spicy minced chicken, mushroom, and sprinkled with small fried anchovies.. The tofu was crispy outside and very soft inside, really a nice texture.. Tasty and appetising..

I love the taste of the food here.. A nyonya meal usually covers the taste from hot, sour to sweet.. It's really full of taste..

Tesate

We have passed this restaurant quite often when we hang out in Plaza Senayan, but we haven't tried it yet.. So last Saturday we decided to give it a try.. Tesate serves an authentic Indonesian cuisine in modern style..


Such an interesting menu book, they wrapped up a satay fan in the back of it..


The interior is really pleasant.. Modern & pretty chic dining area..


You can see the satay being grilled behind the wall..


Hot Lime Lemon Grass Tea (26K)


We ordered their signature dish, Sate Ayam Madura (49K), 6 pcs grilled chicken satays in sweet peanut sauce.. Nice appearance, they served it on hot stone plate..


Look closer.. Just blends it so well, so you can taste how tasty the sauce was, and it's really goes well with the tender chicken meat..


Mie Godog Jawa (44K), Javanese soup noodle with egg, shredded chicken, veggies, and crackers..



Mixing it up a bit, so you look what's inside.. It's a mixed noodle and vermicelli.. The soup was flavourish and full of spice..


This dish also came up with Indonesian salad like 'asinan'..


Tahu Telur (44K), Indonesian beancurd omelette.. It's tasty and crispy dish with sweet shrimp paste sauce..

In general the food here was decent..

Pizza e Birra

Have you heard or tried out Pizza e Birra? This will be my new fave place for pizza, I just tried Pizza e Birra for the first time two weeks ago, and one week later I came back there again with some frenz.. Haha.. Yup I loved the ambiance and of course their pizza, they really creative and unique with the menu..

The setup in this restaurant is pretty chic.. As seen above, a touch of industrial style with its timber chairs & tables and exposed ceiling.. I've been here twice and this place is always packed especially on weekend..

OK these are what I had on my first visit..


Satay Seduction Pizza (49K) - regular size, pizza topped with grilled chicken in aromatic satay sauce.. Nice and has a unique taste..


Spaghetti Aglio Olio (29K) with Turkish Meatball (15K).. It's spicy and tasty..

And more on my second visit.. Luckily we got HSBC " Buy 1 Get 1 Free" promotion this time, so no wonder we were so greedy.. (^_^)


Lychee Flavour Beer (39K), sweet and refreshing..


We tried their breakfast pizza, Wakey Wakey Pizza (49K) - regular size, pizza topped with scrambled egg and meatballs.. I never tasted pizza with scrambled egg on it before, but turns out the pizza really goes well with it.. Love it hehe..


Bond.. Pizza Bond (49K) - regular size, it's turkey ham, turkey bacon, and tortilla chips on top of the pizza with sour cream and guacamole avocado dip..


The Godfather Calzone (59K) - regular size, calzone with chili con carne on it..


Spaghetti Carbonara (35K). You can create your own pasta to your liking here.. U can choose either spaghetti or penne, choose your own sauce and add the topping u liked.. This time we forgot to add some topping, so its just spaghetti with a plain carbonara sauce..

Full already, but it's not complete yet without desserts yaa?


Black Eyed Pears (55K) - large size, sweet chocolate based pizza with and pears and Vanilla Ice Cream (15K).. It's so great, a must for chocolate lover..


Don't Be A Peach (45K) - large size, sweet calzone of peach and custard with Vanilla Ice Cream (15K).. I loved the custard so creamy and yummy..

Seriously, I love Pizza e Birra.. I love their atmosphere and of course their foods.. There still more unique menu that I haven't tried yet.. Surely I will be back next time...

Pastis - revisit

I know I've been posting about Pastis recently, and this time we back there again to meet up with some friends.. And we tried their others menu this time..


My friend ordered this Shrimps Platter (45K), fried shrimp dumplings, and fried shrimp balls.. It’s just a very very normal dish, but quite nice..


I ordered Strozzapreti al Pesto (55K), a homemade pasta with mushroom and basil pesto sauce.. Actually this pasta should come up with potato on it, but I asked the waiter to change it with mushroom.. This pasta looks not that appetizing, but tasted quite good and I enjoyed the chewy pasta's texture.. I think this is should be their special or only tentative menu (I'm not sure), coz I found this dish on their cupboard menu list..


E tried Fried Flat Rice (50K) from Asian selections, a Chinese style fried flat rice noodle with beef and veggies.. Tasty and the beef was so tender..

Pastis is really a nice place to eat and hang out..

The Grand Beppu

I've noticed.. We've been eating a lot of Japanese food lately.. This time we have tried another Japanese ramen @ The Grand Beppu..


The Grand Beppu @ Plaza Indonesia Extension.. Simple and nice dining area..



This is what I had.. Gindara Ramen (47K) - regular size, spicy kyushu ramen soup with grilled gindara.. The soup was quite delicious with mild spiciness, the gindara was sweet & fragrant, and the noodle was nicely done too.. Actually, they have several levels of spiciness for this ramen, but I only tried 1 chili level, and it was spicy enough for me..



E ordered Tsukimi Ramen (30K) - large size, original kyushu ramen soup with sliced beef, and half-boiled egg on it.. The soup was not spicy but still quite tasty.. The noodle was thin and chewy..

All in all, it is fairly good ramen, It's worth checking out..

Pasta de Waraku - revisit

Like I said on my last review about Pasta de Waraku, that we will be back to try their Japanese pizza and others pasta selections.. And here it is...


We ordered Salmon Mushroom Pizza (58K), it's like paper thin topped with mozzarella cheese, mushroom and salmon.. This is the thinnest pizza crust I ever eaten, certainly it's not like common pizza we usually eat.. Really an Italian foods with Japanese twist.. For this time the pizza only has one small size, but the waiter said their regular size will available soon..


We tried Cream Bacon Potato Pasta (58K), wafu cream based spaghetti with sliced bacon and potato.. The cream was deliciously rich and tasty without being too heavy..


Sukiyaki Pasta (68K), seems we didn't try something new here.. Yup, I was craved for this pasta since our last visit..

Although their price is a bit expensive, but the place always packed with food goes almost every weekend we visit.. Seems the food taste here is worth its price (^_^)..

MOS Burger

I'm gonna make a short post here.. MOS Burger, a Japanese burger fast-food chain.. We tried MOS Burger @ Plaza Indonesia..


We sat in the outside dining area, love this spot from here we can overlook Thamrin Street..


Chicken Teriyaki Burger (21K), soft buns and nice teriyaki sauce..


Plus small size French Fries (12K)

Ramen Sanpachi

Ramen Sanpachi (Ramen 38) is one of the best authentic ramen restaurant, I ever tasted in Jakarta.. The first time I tried this ramen was in Kamome Building, but now they has another branch in Pacific Place..


The setup in this restaurant is pretty simple.. Modern design with a touch of red and white lampion lantern..


Here's their signature and challenging ramen, Jigoku Ramen, a hot soup ramen with 10 leves of hotness.. If you can eat this ramen with a hotness level between 11-20, they will documented you.. So, does anyone dare to try it? We didn't try it this time, so we ordered others ramen..

I had Tenshin Ramen (45K), a bit spicy seasoned ramen soup topped with egg omelete includes mushroom on it..

Looks the omelete was so big cover up the whole bowl.. I loved this omelete, soft and fluffy with a lot of mushrooms.. The soup was really really tastefull..

E ordered Goma Kara Ramen (45K), a thick and tasty sesame miso ramen soup, served with marinated boiled egg and veggies..

The soup was very tasty, the noodle itself was springy and slightly curled..

After you finish your dinner, they'll serve you with a complimentary konyaku jelly.. It's quite refreshing..

I really recommend this restaurant to get your visit someday when you are craving for Japanese Ramen.. They have many variant of ramen..
