Blowfish

As one of my reader asked me to try the sushi @ Blowfish, so here it is our sushi time @ Blowfish.. Lucky for us, we still got this brilliant Ramadan promotion, it was 50% off for all sushi roll only..


Blowfish Kitchen & Bar is specialized in modern and fusion Japanese Cuisine.. Not only sushi you can find on the menu, but there also kamameshi (rice casserole dish), twisted nigiri, udon, ramen, soba, other main Japanese dishes, and desserts..


The place is so elegant yet romantic with Japanese design element.. I think this is the most romantic Japanese Restaurant in Jakarta so far..

Back to the food.. Let's see what we have here..


Started with Japanese Mushroom Omelette (50K), simple but I loved their generous Japanese mushroom inside.. And the omelette was perfectly moist..


The first sushi arrived.. High Voltage (49K), a rice roll with sauteed spicy unagi and topped with squid.. Like its name, its really such a high voltage in your mouth, soo spicy.. but we loved it..


Orange Blossom (55K), a deep fried roll with salmon, cream cheese, topped with sweet spicy mayonnaise and ikura served in crispy bowl.. I think this is one of the crowd’s favorites, since I can easily spot it in every table.


Sunnyvale (55K), a spicy salmon, kani stick rolled in rice and sauteed in butter soyu.. I liked a bit crunchy texture on the outside, and chewy on the inside..


The last one is Wagyu Enoki Roll (135K), enoki mushroom wrapped in wagyu beef, sauteed and seasoned with yakiniku sauce.. Mmm yummy.. This dish was delicious, the flavor and beef texture was really nice.. Do you think it's too expensive for its portion? But guys, it's a real wagyu beef, the beef was really really soft, not like chew a rubber hehe.. So worthed or not? u taste and decide it..

Blowfish is located in one place along with Puro Ristorante, and both come from Ismaya Group.. Blowfish is not only a nice place to dine but you also can enjoy their lounge to hang out and enjoy your nightlife with your frenz.. That nite we had a great dinner there and don't mind coming back to try their others menu beside sushi roll or maybe try their Italian Restaurant, Puro Ristorante next time..

Modern Toilet

As I said, here's our food journey in Hong Kong... I'm sure there's no this type of restaurant in Jakarta yet.. Modern Toilet Restaurant is a full on toilet theme restaurant comes from Taiwan, they have two branches already in Hong Kong.. They open from 12AM-12PM, so don't plan your breakfast to this restaurant..


The colorful entrance, do you notice the lamp hanging on the ceiling? It is a feces like lamp and there also some huge toilet pumps hanging on the ceiling too..


The interesting menu, full of funny and interesting foods.. The menu is raging from Western to Asian selections..



So many tantalizing choices on the menu, since its impossible for us to order all.. So here it is, I give you some shots from the menu..




Feels like in the toilet.. You'll sit on a stylish acrylic toilet..


The seat, the table, the decoration, the bowl, the glass, everything they set up in toilet related decor.. And everyone dines at a glass table with a sink or bathtub underneath..The waiters will serve your meal on a mini toilet bowl or others mini toilet dishware.. Soo unique and adorable yaa...


Kiwi Juice (HKD 20/IDR 26K), fresh kiwi juice in mini urinal toilet..


Cute or eeuwwh? hehe.. But the juice is refreshing with kiwi chunks on it..


We started with this Dinosaurs' Egg (HKD 30/IDR 39K).. Haha curious what is it? it's a chicken corn nugget, its really tasty thou.. We like this a lot..



E ordered Bacon Baked Spaghetti (HKD 60/IDR 78K), baked spaghetti and pork bacon topped with melted mozzarella serve in mini cute bathtub..


This cream corn soup with garlic breads come in one set menu with this baked spaghetti..


For the dessert, my frenz ordered this huge Chocolate Ice Mix (HKD 40/IDR 52K), chocolate ice shaved topped with biscuits, jelly, chocolate paste, chocolate chips, and chocolate ice cream.. It was fun digging the ice shaved to find out what is the inside.. The inside is all bout chocolate and really a complete dessert..

So u decide its appetizing or yucky?.. What do you think? I know it sounds a bit 'yucky' but trust me the food was quite nice.. Should they open in Jakarta? Hehe.. Ok guys, till then more updates again about Hong Kong foods in next post..

PEPeNERO - Revisit

Hey, I'm back.. Apologies for the lack in updates as I just got back from Hong Kong this week.. I spent 5 days 4 nights at Hong Kong and had some foods and restaurants to review it later.. I will blog more about Hong Kong soon...

And before that, let's continue the food journey in Jakarta, shall we?


Yup, we back to PEPeNERO, I have a dining experience at PEPeNERO once in Kuningan but none in The Energy Building..


Located in the middle of the glass hallway in Menara Energy Building.. The place is modern yet stylist, has a nice ambiance.. But I still prefer to PEPeNERO Kuningan ambiance, its more comfortable and has a bit romantic atmosphere..


Always begin with an Italian bread basket, I enjoyed it with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar..


Starter for free.. Tomato Bruschetta is just a simple dish and yet so deliciously fresh..

Hot Lemon Tea (15K)

We ordered Capricciosa Pizza - small size (42K).. It's not really a small pizza size like we imagined before, for me this was a medium size hehe.. The pizza has complete ingredients on it, topped with tomato, mozzarella, mushrooms, Italian sausages, ham and mix pepper.. As always I loved their pizza texture, its not too doughy & soft and yet not hard & crunchy..


And we tried something new here.. Italian style sandwich Panino al Tonno (41K), white tuna salad on freshly baked homemade Italian schiacciata (Italian flat bread) with lettuce, tomato, and served with french fries & salad..


A generous serving of tuna salad inside the sandwich.. Such a nice and refreshing tuna salad..

PEPeNERO is one of my fave place for a splendid, authentic, and affordable Italian food in Jakarta..

Love fish and chip? So don't miss out this place, Fish & Co. a restaurant chain which famous for their seafood in a pan concept..

The menu had quite a variety of fish and seafood for their main course to choose..

Different kinds of sauce to dip in, tartar sauce and chili sauce..


E ordered their signature dish.. Fish & Chips (59K), a crispy fried fish topped with lemon butter sauce.. We don't know exactly what kind of fish it is, our guess is dory fish.. But at least the fish didn't smell fishy and tasted good..


Next, the grilled version, I choosed this Kingklip Black (59K), grilled gindara fish with black pepper sauce loads with fries.. I opted the fries for the side dish instead of paella rice.. The fish was fresh and that was such a rich spicy sauce.. Sooo flavorful, and its served straight up in a pan..

I had a great meal there and I will definitely revisit to try out more on their menu..

IndoChine

This time we went to FX and planned to have a dinner at IndoChine..


Siem Reap Cafe under IndoChine group serves a selection of Indochinese Cuisine..

Located in the entire 8th floor of FX Lifestyle Xnter, IndoChine really located in the heart of Jakarta.. They have indoor and semi outdoor area..


We were promptly seated in the semi outdoor area at this gorgeous spot, we can overlooking the panoramic view of the Jakarta city's skyline.. But their low sofa made us uneasy to eat..


First impression of the restaurant, it’s somewhat cozy yet stylish. With several stylish red chandeliers and a screen latched on top, patrons can already feel comfortable when hanging out here.


For the drink, E ordered IndoChine Iced Tea (25K), its a milk blend tea.. It's not a usual iced tea, but quite refreshing..


I ordered Banh Xeo (88K) means sizzling cake, it is a Vietnamese crepe-type pancake and a popular street snack in Vietnam, the right way to eat Banh Xeo is by wrapped it with a lettuce leaves and dipped into the sweet sour sauce..


Looks what is inside.. It is filled with a combination of diced chicken, shrimp, tofu, mushroom, carrot, scallions, and bean sprouts.. That was the first time I tried it and tasted nice for me.. Liked it..


Meanwhile, E ordered Bun Ga Xao (68K), Vietnamese vermicelli rice noodle topped with stir fried chicken, bean sprouts drenched with curry sauce..


Stirred it up.. Mmm Yummyy.. Its really a nice combination..

Well, overall I would say it was a nice place to visit and spend your good nite out with your frenz.. And when its come to the food, I think they serve pretty decent foods on the little pricey side.. But, still worth to try..

Cold Stone Creamery

Ice cream anyone? Who doesn't love ice cream.. Here I have Cold Stone Creamery, the name describes the way they serve the ice cream.. They mixing the ice cream with all the topping we opted on a frozen granite stone..


A Green Tea Ice Cream - Like It size (25K), the smallest one came with one topping by our choice.. The ice cream was really smooth and creamy, tasted great with almond flakes mixed on it.. And for the cone E choosed Chocolate Coated Wafer Bowl (8K)..
